Title: S2R forks on a '96 M900?
Post by: Christian on July 26, 2011, 07:34:03 AM
Does anyone know if this is a direct swap? I'm mostly concerned about axle size and wheel/brake spacing. Would love for them to bolt right on. Have calipers that go with forks so the 45mm brakes and older M900 forks would be pulled.

Thoughts?

Axle size is different.

Bummer. That's what I thought.

It's smaller, right? 10mm vs 12mm? Can I get a spacer such that will allow me to retain the front wheel? Or is it forks, axle, wheel - all need to be swapped?

You could get spacers made to fit the axle to the forks... I don't know of anyone that has them on the shelf.

Or you could get the 25mm axle, speedo drive, and and later-model wheel with the 25mm bearings.
