Title: Main Fuse Problems...damaged fuse box...
Post by: tonkoshala on July 26, 2011, 12:46:28 PM
I thought I had solved my electrical problems only to find them now worse. I melted 3 or 4 of the 30 amp main fuses on my S4. The last one I replaced arched and caused the retainer for the fuse to melt. I made it back home having to stop several times with the old aluminum foil method I use to use on my 442.
Is there a quick fix to this outside of replacing the entire fuse box? Can I use a larger fuse or rig it somehow so that I can ride? Obviously the foil ain't going to cut it lol....

Have you fixed the reason it's blowing that fuse?

Hell naw. I haven't been able to hunt it down yet. I'm going to go ahead and let someone else handle it. Sorry about the late response. I haven't been on the bike for a while now, but I'm looking to get it fixed quickly. I'm moving this weekend to Bryson City NC. Gonna get to ride the Dragon's Tail daily [beer]
