Title: S4RS Sprag spring replacement
Post by: Dave on July 29, 2011, 04:36:07 PM
Have sprag clutch problems on my s4rs and was wondering if anybody with the same problems have just changed the spring?
If so is there an alternative spring to use , say from an skf seal or similar.
I realise that i could probably get away with shortening the spring , but would rather put my trust in a stronger one .
I'll also have a good look at the starter gear for wear when i'm there , hopefully that hasnt been chewed out.

Thanks in advance,
Dave.

Thanks howie , have already seen and read those links , the first one shortens the original spring which i'd rather not do and the second link is for a 748 and i wasn't sure if they had the same dia sprag as the s4rs.
