NAKID,
My detailed description failed to mention all the "foot" sightings........ They prefer venison jerky in these parts......... The " foot ", like me, likes to hunt & be hunted.

How's it going at the new place NAKID?
It's...................................going.
It was a rough start, but everything is working itself out. We spent most of the day today getting the last of the stuff out of the truck and into the storage unit.
Things here are WAY smaller than I'm used to. But I was moving from a 4 bedroom 2000+ square foot house into a 2 bedroom with 1000 (plus from a 2 car garage to a 1 car).
Tomorrow I check into the new command and see how things are gonna be. It'll be wierd cause I haven't been at work for 7 weeks (45 days of leave and 7 days of travel time)
wow that's gotta be a tight squeeze :)
when do you start work?
You're gonna love everything about livin up here except the short assed riding season.....
I started today. Home for lunch. These next few days are pretty much admin/check in time.
BESS (Basic Enlisted Submarine School) starts on Monday and lasts about 6 weeks. Supposed to be pretty easy, after that, the hard stuff starts...

give him a break [laugh]
getting a house ready to rent, packing and moving aren't relaxing!
I honestly didn't think it would take me this long. I expected to have everything done by late Sunday, Monday morning. Loading and unloading the truck was BRUTAL!
But these next few days will be fairly relaxed and then the weekend...
weatherwise, last weekend was one of the most uncomfortable weekends we've had all summer :-\
hazy hot & humid, you will know these words well [laugh]
Great, so was the weekend in Phx when I was loading the truck...
hows the move in goin? smoothely I hope. have you been able to do any exploring yet?
It's goin OK. It's rained pretty heavily the last few days so that hasn't helped. We actually lost power for about 3-4 hours yesterday.
Starting school means the wife is doing a lot of the unpacking.
Oh, our class advisor said we were gonna take a little tour of the base in PT gear today. It turned into a 4.2 mile run. Fun stuff considering I haven't exercised since sometime in late May...

when we moved into our house,
M had a business trip and was gone for a week...
i unpacked every box.
he still doesn't know where everything is [laugh]
at least your 4.2 wasn't run earlier in the week,
yesterday was a pretty nice day!
Uhhh, not where I am. It rained in the morning, then heated up. So, it was very humid and steam was rising from the asphalt...
yabut that was a pretty nice day...
Nice if I hadn't had to run over 4 miles in it...
Get used to it ;D
Is 15 months long enough to get used to it?
is that all that you're going to be with us?
he's going to want to bail out sooner... my guess is by february [laugh]
I don't have a say in the matter. I'm in the Navy, in a school that graduates October 9th, 2009. After that I will be stationed on a submarine. Subs are stationed all over the country so I have no idea whether or not I will stay here after school...
the key word in what i said was want ;)
after living in AZ... your first winter in NE is going to be cold... really cold...
You can always put on more clothing, you can't take off enough to fight the heat in the AZ summer!
It doesn't really get that cold on the CT shore.

You're not kidding. When I was up there for BCM seminars in the past, in the middle of January, it made me appreciate how much milder our winter is comparatively.
Even in winter, I get out at least once every week or so..

it's true, the CT shore has a much milder winter, and not near as much snow
I'm hoping NAKID will get up my way this winter so he can see what cold really is. ;)
We had a really snowy but mild winter last year....never had that 2-3 week stretch when the thermometer never goes above 0. ;D

...did you check where I live?
Snow is an inconvenience...
....even I hate the cold.
snow removal can be expensive, unless it's in your renter's agreement,
or you buy your own plow for your truck [thumbsup]
i like the snow up until february, then i'm done.
what the hell are we talking about snow in july for? ??? [laugh]

I wasn't complaining, I was agreeing with you that it is mild here. Less than 4' of snow a year I imagine is pretty light in this part of the country...

i'm surprised at the 4' accumulation.... i didn't think the coast got that much
is that 4ft of snow, or 4ft of total precipitation?
It said "average annual snowfall=44". I'm sure we add in rain on top of that...

and lot's of it ;)
I couldn't remember the city you moved to so googled Grotons average precipitation and it came up to 48 inches, that's snow, rain, dew whatever......
Climate & Weather
Groton average annual precipitation is 48.9 inches per year.
Groton average annual snowfall is 36.9 inches per year.
The average winter temperature is 28.8 degrees F.
The average spring temperature is 47.2 degrees F.
The average summer temperature is 71.9 degrees F.
The average fall temperature is 52.9 degrees F.
those 71.9 degree days are the cats ass...
there's about 10 of them a yearon either side of winter,, but the roads are so dirty you have to be very cautious..
they use lotsa sand on the roads in the winter 'round these parts.
Well, I don't think I'll be doing much riding this winter. Which really sux coming from the riding I was able to do before...
sometimes we get a few days in winter that are 50°+ [moto]
caution is the key word here...
have you been out exploring on the bike since you've been here?
