Title: 696 rizoma risers...which ones?
Post by: Norcoastal on August 01, 2011, 07:27:53 PM
I just got a DP comfort seat and I need a more upright riding position.

I ordered some rizoma conical bars and I'm not sure which rizoma risers would work, the 44mm or 60mm?

I want an as upright position as I can get but I don't want to change cables or have the bars hit the tank sides.

Any thought???

2009 M 696 - I also wanted a more upright riding position.  I have those short 'alligator arms'.  First I changed to a slightly higher bar.  To avoid having the switch gear hit the tank I had to adjust the fork stops so far that the turning radius was to the point of being unsafe.  Then purchased some generic 1 1/4" risers on eBay and reinstalled the stock handlebar.  t needed a minor fork stop adjustment to avoid the same problem but now it works fine and the riding position is much improved for me.

However, it appears the wiring looms, cables, and hydraulic lines are right at their limits.  I suspect going the next size up to a 1 1/2" riser would create problems there. Let us know how you make out as I could use a tad more bar height.
