Title: Couple of newbie's Post by: mattyvas on June 17, 2008, 11:53:45 PM I saw a couple of potential new persons recently.
Caught a girl looking at a 620 at Frasers last week and gave her my card so she can email me for details of our new DMF home. Today saw a guy on his (new to him) 900 I think down in Oatley. He just picked it up from Nth Coast Vee Twins a couple of weeks back. So I hope these two people end up here soon. The family is growing I hope. Now that we have out new logo, I am such the merch/cards for this situation will come back. Title: Re: Couple of newbie's Post by: dragonworld. on June 18, 2008, 11:18:42 AM The cards thing really works well. When I had my SVthou and was active in the SVDownunder group, there ended up being a bit of an unofficial competition carding other SV's. ;D
And it pulled in quite a number of new members to the community. [thumbsup] Title: Re: Couple of newbie's Post by: bigiain on June 18, 2008, 06:14:18 PM There's plans for cards, but I think the t shirts are coming first.
There's also plans for a PDF or Word Doc version of the cards so people can print their own (including versions with space for us to customise them so we can have url's pointing to the Oz Monster board). I'll try and find out where things are up to... big Title: Re: Couple of newbie's Post by: mattyvas on June 18, 2008, 06:21:10 PM Hey Big,
that'd be great a pdf or doc so we can customize things for each board. Call me the un-official PR secretary, I have been doing my best to spread the word. Every Monster I see gets a shout out one way or another. I can see the headlines now: Elderly respected motorcyclist attacked by lunatic (on great looking bike!) Today an elderly motorcyclist suffered a minor stroke as a result of a road rage incident. Robert Ornerly was just out for a quiet ride on his new Ducati motorbike and on his way to his lawn bowls session when another rider approached from the opposite direction. Robert lifted a few fingers in salute to a fellow cyclist but that wasn't enough and seemed to incite the other rider. The other ride, yet to be identified, riding a beautiful modern red sports bike instead did a u turn in peak hour traffic, cut across 3 lanes of traffic whilst gesticulating wildly, undoing his jacket and pointing at the tank of his own bike and seemingly drawing a box in the air. Robert, realised he was being stalked by a maniac, took evasive manuveurs but that wasn't enough to shake the fellow rider who 'hunted' Robert down through 4 suburbs. Robert finally tired, hid behind a waste truck and suffered minor hypertension as a result of the incident.
