Title: Best Stands Front and Rear? Post by: $Lindz$ on August 04, 2011, 09:22:23 PM What's everyone's recommendations? Not only for storage, but I'll be taking my S4Rs to the track (not racing, just track days). I obviously want to be able to remove both F/R wheels and form removal would be NICE, but not a deal breaker.
I know Pit Bull and I have one for my S2R1000, but there seem to be HEAPS of options. How are T-Rex stands? And no-name eBay ones? Are there benefits or drawbacks to certain designs, etc? Thanks! Just for the front since it's not made for SSSA but it's cheap and sturdy. From experience, BTW. Where and when are you planning on track days? Title: Re: Best Stands Front and Rear? Post by: $Lindz$ on August 04, 2011, 09:45:29 PM You tricking me? There's no thread/link in your post... haha.
I have my S4Rs in the LA-area. Be doing track days in So Cal, mostly WSIR prob. October there is one at Chuckwalla but I haven't been yet. Title: Re: Best Stands Front and Rear? Post by: $Lindz$ on August 04, 2011, 09:47:54 PM Oh yeah, I forgot to add that my 1 gripe with a lot of stands is that they decide which side the "handle" goes on. I'd prefer to lift the bike up with the pin inserted swingarm-side and have the handle be at the rear of the bike.

Be doing track days in So Cal, mostly WSIR prob. October there is one at Chuckwalla but I haven't been yet. Sorry, I'm an idiot. I copied but forgot to paste... http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=51255.msg940940#msg940940 (http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=51255.msg940940#msg940940) I'm in LA too, that's why I asked (I see you going back and forth with Jesse all the time [laugh]). I started a thread in the local board inquiring about track day organizers. I've never done one and really want to start but kinda didn't want to do it by myself, I didn't get much response. Come to the track on Sept. 5th put on my Motoyard... Title: Re: Best Stands Front and Rear? Post by: corey on August 05, 2011, 05:08:54 AM i have t-rex stands for my S2R. couldn't be happier. front fork AND triple stand combo, and a rear SSSA stand. think i paid no more than $200 for the whole shebang WITH shipping. they even threw in an extra triple pin for my lady's GSX-R fo' free.
great guys, great stands. not as nice as pitbull, but they certainly get the job done fine. Title: Re: Best Stands Front and Rear? Post by: Dellikose on August 05, 2011, 05:15:56 AM I have the T-Rex rear stand, and it is very nice for the price ($85 shipped). I don't have any experience with the Pitbull stands, but I think that most people think that the Pitbulls are higher quality.
A lot of the comments I saw about the T-Rex vs. Pitbull were that the T-Rex was good for the everyday rider, but the Pitbull was better if you plan on doing racing/track days often. Title: Re: Best Stands Front and Rear? Post by: $Lindz$ on August 06, 2011, 01:21:22 AM Blah. After scouring for what seemed like an eternity (1 day!) I saw enough detail pics and crap finishes and corrosion/rust and bent stands (mis-use, tall tales, or defective pieces I know not) to just say f*ck it and I bought 2 Pit Bull stands.
Got the standard SSS rear and the front that lifts under the lower triple with a pin so you can change forks and wheels, etc. My friend wants to use that front one as well on his Yamaha so we split the cost. Ordered them both and 2 new tires all on sportbiketrackgear.com and had a breeze of a time. I would have liked to design and make my own, but for now who cares... this works and works well (as I can tell first hand by my previous experience with Pit Bull). Besides with BOTH of use putting good use on that front stand, I didn't want there to be any issues. Some of the reviews I read are basically "I'm storing my bike for winter, will this stand work!?" WTF. ...now what a boring thread this is! Title: Re: Best Stands Front and Rear? Post by: uglyducky on August 07, 2011, 05:47:24 AM ......zzzzzzzzzzzzz [coffee]
