Has anyone experianced this problem...it comes and goes on my bike....one night ill put it in the garage and the next morning there is evidence of some kind of greenish rusty fluid on the ground...and then some mornings ill wake up and there will be no spot at all......and the wierd part is that its on the left side of the bike...not UNder the bike but to the left of it under the shifter bar....anyone have any idea what this might be or had this issue?? [bang]
Greenish and rusty? Is your bike water-cooled?
(Also, might move this to 'tech' for faster/better results.)
Clutch juice?
no its an air-cooled bike....lol and is clutch juice even a real thing haha
You've not lived till you've seen a clutch being juiced. Imagine juicing a cow.
(Or, you know, imagine opening a bottle of brake fluid. Kind of the same thing...)
You can always clean things up and powder the area. That might help you trace where the leak is from.
I have never seen "clutch juice" (brake fluid) in green, just amber and blue. I have seen green motor oil though.
Blinker Fluid? [roll]
Check the crankcase breather and the base of the vert cylinder head.... both common leakage spots
Maybe one of the o-rings of the clutch rod needs replacing.Next time look if the fluid is dripping down the sidestand.
Check the "O" ring on the access cover on the left case and check that the screws are tight. If that is good check the left side case for hairline cracks. If you have hairline cracks or deformities in the case cover you may have a loose flywheel nut allowing the flywheel nut to walk on the shaft beating on the case cover from the inside. If this is the case your crank will need to be inspected because this is a big cause in crank failure. Hopefully this is not the problem.
Good luck.
Found where the leak was coming from this morning....its the oil breather tank under the seat of the bike.....idk what its for...and i havent got into the bike to see if its just a rotted out tube...or a crack in the case...or even a loose tie....i hope its not a cracked tank :-\
you might also want to check the crankcase breather valve to see if it's not defective also.
