I just got back from a 14 day mission... it's been a brutal couple of weeks out here. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the recently departed.
I'd like to take this time to thank all of you for the well wishes and support that I've received from this board over the past few months. As an update, my divorce will be final in the next ten days or so.
Wishing that I could swap my body armor for some leathers and be back on two wheels again. I'll be in touch when I can. Regards, Adam.
holy crap, be careful (as if you needed me to tell you that).
come to san diego when you get home, and the beer's on me.
In the war zone and a divorce. Man, that is a lot of weight. Keep your head in the moment and make it back home safe and sound.
Be safe out there and keep your head in the game. [thumbsup] Congrats on the soon to be granted divorce. Been there, done that. It's a license to start over. At least you have a loving, faithful Ducati waiting for you when you come home!! [clap] [Dolph] [beer]
And yes, RIP to all those recently departed. Hurts to watch the story on the news. Sad day indeed.
Adam...keep it tight...and get back here soon for good...
in that place - hell, when where the good times?

I think you would need to go back to the Bronze Age Indus River Basin civilizations when the early hydraulic societies emerged

+1 Stay safe!
Nothing more can be added that hasn't already been well said by the others.
Other than I share the same wishes.
Randimus and I welcome you to Colorado when you're back for some fun twisty rides in the mountains
and maybe a few of these: [beer] and this: [bacon]
Stay safe Adam!

She's right - all I can do is parrot what others have said, but that doesn't make it less sincere: Stay safe, Adam!
Good luck to you man.
Beers on me in Seattle.
oh and...

To the contrary, through the 20
th century several different leading figures in the country made steps towards modernization and secularization (the success of these efforts seems to have varied). From about the mid 1970s onward things have gone all pear-shaped.

I wonder what became of those leaders....
Stay safe [thumbsup] so you can get back here to [Dolph] and [beer] [drink]
Stay safe and stay sane - I am never sure if I should congratulate anyone on a divorce, so I will wish you better things to come. Once you are back stateside, and if you find yourself in Houston, let me know - I would like to get you drunk in gratitude for your service... also because getting drunk is a lot of fun [thumbsup]

I already knew the answer...whatever reforms were attempted in the past,,, the end resulted in the Taliban
I think in this past century all the leaders died violently except for two who elected to get out of Dodge and holed up in Italy
they have a history of voting people out of office with bullets
here is Rudyard Kipling's take on the turf back in the 19th century....the last 2 stanzas say it all

War is just kind of what we do, as humans. Take most any country and I think you'll find they at least as much time fighting wars than they do at peace. Fight a war in your home country if that's how things go, or better still export your war somewhere else.
Anyway...
With regards to the OP, Adam, I wish him all the best. Stay safe, and I hope you (and everyone else) get to come home permanently sooner rather than later.
Stay safe.
Let us know if you need anything.

Adam; Thank you for all that you do.
To my Brother-In-Arms,
Keep your wits about you,
Your Strength at your fingertips,
Your Faith in the back of your mind,
Your Muscles primed,
And Mission First.
I will see you in the Halls of Valhalla.

My Dad lives in Houston (Sugar Land), so I'll definitely be down there when I get back. Sounds like a plan. :)

I'd like in on this. I'm about 60 mi out of Houston. I seldom make it into the City but I'd come in to meet, have a Texas Ice Tea, and go for a ride.
[thumbsup] sounds like a plan gentlemen... ;D

I need to trade in my car for a truck... that's the only way I'll have the bike with me. I think my soon to be Ex would shoot me if I attempted to make a cross country trip on the bike with my three year old. [cheeky] If I can make it happen, it would be great. Meet up at ExImports in Houston, go for a ride, throw back a few beers... sounds like a good time.

Texas DIMBY!
