Title: Re: cutting CF Post by: stopintime on August 09, 2011, 03:46:19 PM I was pleasantly surprised when I cut my CF tail with a thin Dremel (copy) cutting wheel.
Like butter and with no rough edges - just a light sanding to round them off. My tail is probably not as thick as your fender, but I think it'll go very well. WARNING: someone said CF dust is NOT ok to inhale. Wear a mask. The other is about 1 mm and I think it's meant for cutting metal.
Maybe you should do a test run close to the current edge, so you're prepared when you cut where you want.... I've done a lot of these. Dremel is your friend. Use a low speed since CF is hard. +1 on the face mask. Also use safety googles. CF throws off a fine dust, but is very easy to trim. |
