Hi
My partner is looking at getting a used 696 probably a 2008/2009 model
is the much difference between these and the current version ( apart from ABS)

Nope. Current MY runs the larger exhaust heat sheilds. Thats about it.

Awesome thanks, some good buys around on the used market at present so might pickup one of those for her.

The only other difference apart from the larger heat shields (mentioned earlier) are adjustable brake and clutch levers.
