Title: Monster 1100 Evo rearset for 696/796/1100
Post by: Moschy on August 11, 2011, 11:01:27 AM
Hi,

after at least two month all parts arrived and I found time to mount my new rearsets. I think this is not only a good looking option but a cheap one, too. If you use the parts from your 'old' rearset it's about 300 Euro (420 US$).

Installation is pretty simple and you don't need to make spacers like when using M4SR sets.

Here are some pictures

Looks nice and clean.  [thumbsup]
If I've seen this earlier I would've been tempted to go with this option too.
Now I'm stuck with the (expensive!) Rizoma rearsets.  :D

BTW, What kind of brake calipers are those?

This may be a stupid question, but are these simply the Ducati Performance rearsets, or are they specific to the Evo?

One questions. This is only for esthetic reasons right? I have a 1100 Evo and love how they look but the rizoma's have an advantage that those dont have... they are adjustable

First there's nothing wrong with the rizoma except the 700 Euros they charge you for it. The adjustability was no point for me. I've ridden the Evo and found it much more comfi than my 696. So I took the bar riser, seat and rearset and have the same ergonomics.

@rozer: All parts are EVO OEM parts nothing DP. Brake calipers are Brembo monoblocks from the KTM RC8R. Same as on the ducs but black

Yap. But I went with the luxury to buy all parts new. So whenever my misses wants to go for a ride with me (which is not very often) I switch back to the 696 rearset. It's a 10 Minute job if you have all parts twice.

The site you post is a Holand site? How much for the evo rearset?

Yep, it's Holland.

Carrier L/R 80 Euros/each
Heel guards L/R 25 Euros/each
Brake lever 50 Euro
About 50 Euros for screws and small parts

This appears to be the most affordable rearset option I have seen to date.

What are the notable differences between the 696 and Evo seats?  If I got the part number right, the Evo seat appears to be $169.99 US.

Looks like you've vinyl wrapped the forks. And the top triple, is it powder coated?
It seems like you're darkening most of the bike with the exception of the frame.
Are you planning on ceramic coating the headers too?

@ RC Fan The seat does not push you foward on the tank. It's much more comfy

@ Raux I've seen them on your bike and they might be an option for the future but other bling first ;-)

@ Rozer The forks are anodized :) Headers stay blank. I never liked the look
