mmm beer, my other passion.   [drink]  [beer]

Homestate Favorites
New Glarus:
Unplugged Imperial Weizen
Unplugged Smoke on the Porter

Sprecher:
Black Bavarian
Russian Imperial Stout

Central Waters:
Bourbon Barrel Stout
Ouisconsing Red Ale
Lac Du Bay IPA

Tyranena:
The Devil Made Me Do It! Coffee Imperial Oatmeal Porter
Bitter Woman IPA

I'm such a beer nerd.  I collect the bottles, but I'm going to have to start collecting labels instead as the bottles are becoming overwhelming.

I like pretty much anything by New Glarus. If you guys get a chance to pick up a 4 pack of their Unplugged (I think that's what it's called) do so. It's always something wacky, limited availability, and generally good. The last one I got was an Imperial Hefe. Past favorites include the Cherry Stout - tho that was better after mellowing in the fridge for a year.

Sprecher Pub Brown is good as well.

A couple weeks ago I was at the Chilton Microbrew Fest. Been going for probably 8 years in a row now. If you didn't go, you should have. Every year there is one or two new beers and sometimes a new brewer.
I've been to the beer fest in Madison as well, which makes the Chilton fest look like a backyard picnic  [drink]

You may be able to, but  they sell out every year. Someone is probably going to be selling an extra ticket. Likely at a premium ;) It's been a few years since I went, but we got our tickets when they went on sale to be safe.

Just checked the link. They now do a lottery for mail order tickets. Must be getting much more popular for people to stand in line to get tickets.

I also like Newcastle and Guiness but Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Co is the house beer.

I like everything that I have tried from New Glarus   [thumbsup]  [thumbsup]

Being relatively new to Wisconsin, it looks like I have a lot of "homework" to do... ;D

I went to a place in Cedarburg last night called Silver Creek and had a few.  They brew on premises and I had one of their IPAs and one of their Porters and it was fantastic.  They have nice outdoor seating on Cedar Creek (which is really high and fast right now) and tons of other beer on tap.  If anyone wants to go or meet up there, hit me up on PM and we can work out details.  Check them out @ http://silvercreekbrewing.com/

I enjoy Leinie's Red and the Summer Shandy (http://www.leinie.com/beers.html)  I also enjoy a really cold glass of New Glarus Belgiam Red (http://www.newglarusbrewing.com/beers.cfm?BeerID=10)  if I'm in the right mood.

We're taking the pups to  Tyranea Brewery (http://www.tyranena.com/) for a dog wash next Sunday, I think.  I haven't tried any of their beers yet but I'm looking forward to it.  They have a nice patio and music on the weekends.

We may have to put it to a vote if New Glarus Belgiam Red  counts as a beer  :-X

Hey!  New Glarus has it listed under their beers and I trust their judgment more than your opinion.  :P  Becareful or I might start getting mad at your for things you do in my dreams.  [evil]

Yup it's a beer. And it's pretty good. For about half a bottle. Too sweet for me. It's definitely a fair priced alternative to Lindemann's.

Haha, my beer preference are vidicated!  Who cares if it's better served in a wine glass than a beir stein?   [wine]

I like it mostly because it's got a tang to it, and it's not your every day beer.  I can only drink it occasionally before I go into sugar shock.
