Post by: zooom on August 18, 2011, 05:26:26 AM
do your best Vogon imitation...or your worst in this case...

there was some good inspiration here-> http://rwdaily.runnersworld.com/2011/08/chafing-is-red-frostbite-is-blue.html?cm_mmc=Twitter-_-RunnersWorld-_-Content-Blog-_-RWDailyPoem (http://rwdaily.runnersworld.com/2011/08/chafing-is-red-frostbite-is-blue.html?cm_mmc=Twitter-_-RunnersWorld-_-Content-Blog-_-RWDailyPoem)

anyways...

roses are red
violets are blue
I suck at this
and you can too!

Here's a haiku I found on the web.

Summer calls to me
Come ride your motorcycle
Live without your cage

I found you quite stunning

after much beer

I now find you frightening

as day-break draws near

I do semi-weekly submissions to a writing group. We all critique each other's work. Sometimes I write things just to irritate them. This is one of those things.

(If we do a "bad prose" thread, I have one of those as well. It's comically terrible.)

An Ode to Cement

Oh cement
You keep things together
When they'd otherwise be apart
You keep them forever

The gooey glue that glues
And I think it's quite fun
That you're the thing that makes
Lots of industry run

Asphalt is black
But it's messy and boring
But cement is clean and gray
And easier for storing

When the Romans went building
They didn't use wood
Because if they'd done that
Stay for the ages things would not have could

Some say you're harsh
And make the world boring and gray
But I know you're not
You make the world an exciting place to play

I went on my driveway today
And cleaned up my driveway
And thought about cement
You're so good I should call it my my-way

I only opened this thread

to see what Rat typed.

I knew it would be great

since his prose is much hyped.
