cant see what happened... i'm guessing brand new tires as the culprit... cant hear any tire squealing. new 848evo dark, didnt even have plates on yet.

' when will they ever learn...
when will they eeeeever learn'
Looks to bed poor body position... If you look at the rider on the red bike, you can see they are going about the same speed, but their bike has a lot less lean angle. They are positioned to the inside. The rider on the 848 looks crossed up and the bike is leaned over a lot more than the red one. Runs out of lean, touches something down when he's using all his traction already and that's that.
Its all about his body position....im up at the snake nearly every weekend on my bike and that last corner is a nasty one if your not used too it....its got a tricky double apex to it and you really have to have a good line going into the turn and not push it too hard until you know how far you can lean and where you end up accelerating out of the turn....My guess...bad line from the turn in....carrying too much speed without for his skill level....not hanging off the bike enough to keep the bike more upright and lastly and most obviously this is a new bike to him....this road is too advanced for a newbie to come out on a brand new bike to try and make his bones.... He's rear braking when he should be accelerating
Look at the slomo
between 0:23 and 0:24, there starts a skid mark from the rear tire

Methinks you are correct - didn't see his throttle hand move enough to spin the rear
You can hear him start to get on the gas, like been mentioned too much lean angle, bad body position, head as seen head was opposite side of bike and gas. Not sure how new the tires are as well( as in not scrubbed). Ouch, glad he is okay, hopefully learnt from the mishap. We have a saying in aviation, any landing you walk away from is a good landing! :)
he used too much throttle too soon with shitty body positioning
poor bike.
i wonder whether he buys the picture with his ass pointing to the sky.

If it was me, I'd definitely buy a copy. ;D I'm just glad there's no one to video tape all of the stoopid things I've done.

totally worth it. let me go crash my duc now. brb [laugh]
Noob question from someone with a bike with no fairings. How much would frame sliders save in a crash like this?
IMO, a crash like that should be almost completely avoidable if you're not racing your bike on the roads.
Anyway, it could have saved the tank, maybe left foot controls and some rear plastic parts. If it was on the other side, maybe most of the exhaust.
There are so many different types of crashes in so many types of surroundings, so there's no way to tell if they would save anything or everything.
For real experience you should ask He Man - he's the expert [evil]
