Title: 05' S4R Arrow Exhaust (full), buy Titanium or CF??? Post by: BourneS4R on August 23, 2011, 08:46:01 PM I Desperately want to throw on a full length Arrow setup to my S4R. YouTube obviously has hoards of videos of Arrow pipes but a lack of HD video WITH HD-quality sound prevents a good decision. I love the look of both cans; looking for opinions on who likes the sound of what cans better? Have you heard both? Does one have more of a baritone sound? One more poppy that another? Any backfire/back pressure (which I LOVE when downshifting to a stop light)? PLEASE let me know your opinions! Thanks!!

Post by: uglyducky on August 23, 2011, 11:29:38 PM there is no comparing the full system vs slip ons IMO. the full system is the only way to go, better performance, sound, aesthetic (how anyone can sleep knowing that udder is on the bike is beyond me). but, again, this stuff is all very subjective. the bike on its own is one hell of a beast so however you decide you will be stoked as long as it suits you. great purchase and, per forum rules, you must post pics or we will TP your house and dull your ice skate blades . . .

Ha, thanks for the opinion. I am of the same mind set as you; I would rather spend another $400 and get rid of that udder. More asteticlly pleasing plus, in my mind, seems like it would allow for some heat reduction; much needed on bikes that run (average) 30 degrees higher that rice rockets. Now if I could only bleed some of that heat away from the cylinder between my legs. I have good pics to post, just need to figure out where the gallery is at. Post by: S21FOLGORE on August 27, 2011, 09:02:05 AM Arrow full system with Titanium silencer, re-mapped ECU, open air box ... after the mod's done, deer runs away & cars move away ;D (I run without baffle.)

The sound of Titanium cans is a little bit louder. Also it sounds a bit more aggressive at WOT. (nothing wrong with CF can's sound, but to my ears, they sound milder .) To judge which one sounds better to you, you have to listen to both system in the flesh. HD of not, video clip on the net will never accurately reproduce the exhaust note. Look for any Ducs ( doesn't have to be S4R , bit preferably water cooled 4v ones) with aftermarket cans in your area, and listen to the sound. That gives you better idea (at least it's way better than judging from video clip on the net.) Title: Re: 05' S4R Arrow Exhaust (full), buy Titanium or CF??? I know someone with Arrows on his S2R 1000 so that was a bit of a refresher; kind of cements my decision when the time comes. |
