We're starting to get some drizzle in the Northeast, and I'm wondering how much wind it would take to knock over a bike on the street under a cover. Thoughts?
Sure, wind can knock over a bike and a cover will make it worse. In a strong wind, cover = sail. :o
no
you should bring it inside. maybe sleep with it.
Yes, the cover will make it worse. If you cannot get the bike indoors park it so the bike is leaning away from the wind so the bike is being pushed against the sidestand.
Now where is that pic from last years indy gp when you need it

It wasn't last year, it was the first year of the Indy GP. 3 years ago I think.
Hold on, I'll find the pic.

i think the word was the cover of the 2 STs on the end caught wind and pulled them over
It's hard to see cause I took this picture from my iphone from my window. I propped it up against a parking sign outside of my window and I lashed it to the pole. I bungeed the cover as best as I could. I'm hoping for the best.

my bike was knocked over during a strong wind day in downtown portland oregon. no hurricane or cover needed.
Never name your bike Tina.
I'm gonna go ahead and say that if a hurricane, or even a tropical storm, can knock a tree, light post, or even a building down it can probably knock a bike over.

Who puts a cover on a touring bike? ???
Mine was fine with a strapped down cover and a rear stand.
