Title: A new S2R 800 for me Post by: JSun on August 31, 2011, 04:34:35 PM Really excited! Today I took delivery of a 2005 S2R 800. The bike belonged to duccarlos and it is absolutely amazing. Six years I have wanted a monster and today was the day. It's a present to myself for getting broadsided by an expedition and surviving.
I was on a R6 for years and was used to the power band that it produced. When I sat the S2R I rolled the throttle back popped the clutch and..... god damn I love the torque she puts out. Totally new riding experience. It was hard to put her in the garage after a short ride. Still have to take it easy with the broken shoulder and I knew I'd push it if I continued. She is my new daily commuter and will barley get a chance to sit idle in the garage. From what I hear Ducati's are a reliable work horse as long as you properly maintain and care for them. Looking forward to this new relationship and can't wait to open it up. Once fully healed a trip is planned from South Florida up to Ashville NC (with a stop in N. Georgia) to visit some friends and play in the mountains. This bike deserves the proper roads that S Florida fails to provide. You will be pleased to know that the 800 engine is generally revered around here as the most reliable and worry-free of modern 2 valve ducatis. Definitely a workhorse. I've put over 20k miles on mine in 3 years and I've never had a problem - just follow the maintenance schedule. Stick around, learn some shit, grab the tools and start modding [Dolph] Title: Re: A new S2R 800 for me Post by: JSun on August 31, 2011, 05:10:49 PM Ah, Thank you.
