Title: Stock fastener?
Post by: tankerbutt on September 01, 2011, 05:03:29 PM
I was doing an oil change and when putting the bellypan back on I snapped a piece of this fastener off.  The bolt on the right I believe is a standard M6, the other part I'm not sure if it is part of the brackets that came with the bellypan or is it a standard Ducati fastener.  The broken piece and the hex are supposed to be one piece, and the M6 threads into the hex.  It the entire piece threads into the starter.  Any ideas of where to get a replacement??

So I can't comment on whether that is a stock fastener or anything, but if I understand your description correctly, the broken fastener is called a male-female hex standoff. It shouldn't be anything that you couldn't source online, just make some measurements and make sure you get the thread size/pitch right (a trip to the hardware store should take care of that).

Good luck!
