Title: Pimp My Bike
Post by: The ModFather on September 04, 2011, 01:23:54 PM
I wish there was a Pimp My Bike Show and I wish they'd do my bike!! They kinda did it on that show Cafe Racer but it wasn't that great cause it wasn't my bike. :-(

Is your bike sorely lacking bling bling?

Does you Ducati need more this:

i think the best thing about pimpin your bike is the customization and creativity that you bring to it.  scouring images and parts all over the interwebs then trying to mix and match to your taste . . . i dig it.  wouldn't want anyone else to get in that process and that pic up there is a good reminder.  SOMEONE thought that crap was AWESOME.  imagine if they went to town on your ride?!?!?!

yeah its true the process is the as good as much fun as seeing the result. I love it. I guess I'd rather they just give me the money and let me do the pimping.

pimp my ride sucks as a show... but that overhaulin show actually does some quality work on the cars that they fix up.

Im upset at myself for not hating that bike completely. maybe its like one of those ugly dog contests, its so gross that its kinda cool?

It would be fun to put a reasonable rear tire/swingarm on it and track the ever-loving shit out of it.

I don't even have the words to express what I just felt when I read that.

+1... I have yet to see a Foose car that I thought was done wrong. Admittedly, I have not seen ALL his work.

But, I'm a designer by trade, so I definitely have my own idea of what I want my rides (and everything else) to be... so it'd be very difficult for me to let someone else drive that process. I can't even find an entertainment center that does.looks like what I want, so I'm building my own.

As stated previously, I admire the creativity behind that bike, even tho it ended up looking like THAT! The trick is to look for the pieces of that bike that inspire and motivate you, and focus on those, and see if they can find a place on your bike.

I really liked the job done on these two bikes in the Ducati Tent at Moto-GP Indy the lower one is the winner of the Amateur Monster contest.

Are the cans blowing hot exhaust directly on the rear tire?  That gives a new meaning to "tire warmer".

is it me or, is the rear the rear wheel not centered to the bike?

I wasn't there/haven't seen the bike in person, so I can't say with 100% certainty, but...

It appears to have a non-stock, longer swingarm on it.

Leading me to believe I have a pretty good idea why it looks like the rear wheel is off center.

I would assume the wheel is centered. It just looks a little off from this angle.

I can't tell for sure, but I'm thinking it looks off-center because it has a stupid wide-ass rear wheel and tire.

It's centered, but from that view all you can really see is that the tire and wheel come out farther on the right side than they should, making it look like it's hanging off to that side.

The second bike belongs to some guy in my area.  I'm not a fan of the rear tire/swingarm but the gauges are sick.
