Title: Re: Nice Monster tanks Post by: Drunken Monkey on September 07, 2011, 01:48:24 PM Yeah, these guys have taken over where RoadRacing left off and improved on things.
Downsides: The price. And they are probably radioactive. That last part isn't true, but it's what I tell myself so I don't run out and buy one :) Title: Re: Nice Monster tanks Post by: Spidey on September 07, 2011, 02:01:06 PM Now you can drop your blingmeister with wild abandon, DM. They just came up with replacement parts.

Super nice. Too bad DUC can't offer these....pricey
Title: Re: Nice Monster tanks Post by: hillbillypolack on September 07, 2011, 05:36:58 PM At an approximate list of $2400 to $3000, that's a Mother$%^kin lot of money to add to the mod list.
I researched those guys last year as an alternate to a swollen tank. They're unfamiliar with some pump configurations and sending them your tank was one way to clarify what you'd need on the new tank. I'm not saying they're not worth it. Handmade. Beautiful welds. But adding 25-30% of the total cost of my bike is quite a hike in the accessory budget. [thumbsup]
[laugh] never intended on selling! [laugh] Title: Re: Nice Monster tanks Post by: zarn02 on September 08, 2011, 02:12:46 PM $2300 is a lot of scratch, but had I unlimited funds I'd be all over one of these for the 998.
Title: Re: Nice Monster tanks Post by: Uncle Mofo on September 08, 2011, 02:19:18 PM I want one for my monster!! I just can't afford it yet.
A replacement plastic thank from Ducati is 1800 I rather spend the extra $$ when I have it. Title: Re: Nice Monster tanks Post by: zarn02 on September 08, 2011, 02:28:17 PM True. In the context of an $1800 new nylon tank, $500 more for a hand-crafted aluminum one doesn't seem too bad at all.
Title: Re: Nice Monster tanks Post by: Düb Lüv on September 08, 2011, 05:52:34 PM Not insane. I almost bought a spare 1000SS swingarm off ebay last year. Nothing wrong with that. I buy extra early aluminum ss swinarms when the price is right. Up to 2 now. |
