What's the difference between coarse and fine thread for the ducati performance oil plugs. I have a 2011 ducati monster 696
Thanks
Your question has the answer in it. One has fine threads... one coarse. And I'm guessing you're looking at the filler plugs? If so
From the product description
"Coarse thread fits the Monster 696, Monster 696 ABS, Monster 1100evo, Hypermotard 796, Superbike 848, Multistrada 1200, Diavel and Desmosedici. All other Ducati models use the fine thread version."
... and a few (all?) new Ducatis have a smaller hole.
I think all of the 'coarse thread' bikes listed in SadPanda's post are the smaller hole, in a more conventional location at the back of the clutch cover.

OK, more common then.
I knew what you meant...
just bein' a smartass. ;D
I go to Ohama ducati site for specs. If you want to know if a part fits a certain bike you can cross reference between the different models!! When i first got my M796 most places didn't have it in there catalogues, so it helped that I knew what I was looking for.
