But, I hate pavement like that. You just never know if you are going to hit one of those cracks that has an offset to it that will throw you on your head. After a hard winter we get a lot of that, some of the bumps don't return to their original flat status and/or develop cracks. The solution is to almost stand up on the pegs and let the bike do it's dance routine under me - it bounces a bit and the settles down again. Your roads look much like NH/New England roads. That's why the bike has forks... and a rear shock. ;D Title: Re: Turn left, turn right, left ... 108 in nine minutes. Trying to eat lunch and not get crossed up. Title: Re: Turn left, turn right, left ... 108 in nine minutes. Ride video Post by: dennisd on September 15, 2011, 01:41:51 PM I understand, in the video it didn't look like any of the cracks were very bad. We have been in an exceptional drought & heat wave in my area and some of the cracks are 2 to 3 inches wide and I've seen a few areas where one side has dropped an inch or more. State highway crews have repaired any that severe on major roads but some of the county roads I like are getting scary these days. I ride off road also so I'm familiar with placing weight on the pegs to lower the center of gravity and allowing the suspension to do it's thing but a sudden drop of an inch or two is still pretty upsetting. Especially in a tight curve.

+1 on the NE roads. Although you have to add cages across the centerline, that's how we roll. You done good, thanks for sharing. Title: Re: Turn left, turn right, left ... 108 in nine minutes. Ride video Post by: zooom on September 17, 2011, 04:23:57 AM I would call that video "2nd and 3rd Gear, example of the perfection of a 2V Ducati!"

Ride video Post by: stopintime on September 17, 2011, 01:13:50 PM I would call that video "2nd and 3rd Gear, example of the perfection of a 2V Ducati!" .... and then we had to use more than three gears [Dolph] http://youtu.be/mnkV-VnBk34 (http://youtu.be/mnkV-VnBk34) (do we have embed video capabilities here?) Ride video Post by: stopintime on September 18, 2011, 01:36:03 AM yes, but it doesn't support every site. youtu.be happens not to be supported ??? I click "insert hyperlink" and then paste what I get from right-clicking on the video and "copy video URL". Then it works, even if what I paste is slightly different than what you pasted. How did you do it and what is youtu.be ? Title: Re: Turn left, turn right, left ... 108 in nine minutes. Ride video Post by: ducpainter on September 18, 2011, 03:06:24 AM ??? I'm not sure Lars...that's what your link said. Perhaps it's a youtube variant that occurs when you don't list a movie, ie when you don't share it with everyone. How did you do it and what is youtu.be ? I opened your link and copied and pasted the url, and voila. Title: Re: Turn left, turn right, left ... 108 in nine minutes. Ride video Post by: stopintime on September 18, 2011, 06:03:39 AM ........... I opened your link and copied and pasted the url, and voila. Ok - from where did you copy - top adress bar / 'share' box / right click ? For me, it works only if I do the 'insert hyperlink' and right click & copy on the video itself. (and it's still different than yours)(,but works) (what do you mean, there are more important things in life ? ) |
