I'm swapping out exhausts and I'm wondering if its okay to ride the bike for a day with only the headers and no slip-on exhaust?
You didn't say what kind of bike...
But it should be fine- might run shitty but your bike isn't going to break riding it like that for short periods of time...
It's fine, but loud. Straight pipes for the win!
I tried it on my S2R 1K for fifteen minutes. It was louder of course but the concern was that it run much hotter.

Why would it run hotter?
Less restrictive, more air, fuel not added = hotter. :)
How do you get more air by only removing the pipes?
did that on the 696 for about 10 minutes and even with earplugs in it was too much for me to handle.

The air have to go all the way thru the engine.
From the intake to the exhaust.
Every restriction restrict. :)
