Title: 696 GPR Stabilizer & Fat Bar? Post by: dgm on September 19, 2011, 04:26:34 PM Here's the deal.. have 2 track days this weekend. Ordered a GPR Stabilizer from JC Motors. they sent me the right color, but the unit for the "Fat Bars" of the 1100. Now, I'm not sure what to do.
I definitely want the stabilizer for the track this weekend. Will it be any faster for me to get a set of "fat bars" and go that route than to send this GPR Stabilizer back and try to get the right sized one in time? If I upgrade to the "fat bars" will my controls fit? ...frustrated. thanks. Title: Re: 696 GPR Stabilizer & Fat Bar? That's an expensive way to fix this..... My suggestion is to try to get the steering damper exchanged. If that doesn't work - go and enjoy your track day anyway. IMO you don't really need a damper unless it's a really bumpy track and/or you had a more powerful bike capable of front wheel lifting out of corners. Title: Re: 696 GPR Stabilizer & Fat Bar? You're probably right about not needing it most of the time, but my last time on the track I noticed my front end getting real light a few times, which is what made me get serious about a stabilizer.
