Alan and I are having our semi-annual BBQ on Sunday, October 23rd. This year I thought it would be nice to throw in a Muenster ride too. So we would leave from Grapevine Mills Mall around 10 am then cruise out t o Muenster and the windmills. Taking our time, we would be back to our house in Flower Mound by mid-afternoon, BBQ served immediately so everyone can be home early-ish (since it is a school night) [evil]
If you don't have time for both ride and BBQ, I hope you can make one or the other.
Also, since this is a ride day too, there's is no need to bring anything for the meal - we've got it covered.
SO! what say you - yea or nay?
looks good for me.
I'm putting it on my calendar.
Thanks for the warning [cheeky]
I should be able to make this!! Yea!!!
Sounds really nice. [thumbsup] [Dolph] If the weather is good I'd like to make this. Are you planning for lunch in Muenster or skipping it in lieu of Boyd BBQ? [popcorn]
I'd love to attend. I'll keep you posted. Thanks! :)
wife said yes and she'll be riding so everyone park way the hell away. [Dolph]

Damnit! Haven't seen many of you in a while but I'll be in transit that day. Going to toss a new clutch and sprockets in the sh!t hot, and maybe even re-register it while I'm at it...
Have fun, will seek some other venue to see folks as I'm slowly getting back on my damn foot...

Glad to hear it!

looks like I will make the ride and BBQ, when we get back to your house Mindy will come over. So if you need us to bring anything let me know and she can bring it!
Did the Muenster run and north 373 loop to Saint Jo on Wednesday. Roads were great. Just a couple of dings in the road on 730 about a mile from the t-intersection with 455. Everything else was like an Arkanasas road.[thumbsup]
But... from Forestburg to the 373 intersection on 922 it was the worst 18 wheeler/gravel hauler traffic I have ever seen! That's coming from a guy whose family owns a trucking company!! [bang] I don't know where they were coming from or where they were going but they were everywhere! Singles and groups of 2-4. A couple of tankers but all the rest were gravel haulers. And if you don't know they are the worst of all truck drivers. They drive balls to the wall to make as many runs as they can in a day. Loaded or empty. If they had that experience on their job applications with our family company they went straight into the trash can!
Over half of them were all over both lanes. Several times the one I was passing would drift over on me and try to squeeze me out. And just as often the ones coming at me were in my lane. Honking the horn and flipping them off had zero effect. :P I can't believe they haven't killed someone in a car or truck. Seriously, sometimes the one I was following would spend more time in the oncoming lane more than they would be in their own lane. It was like they owned the road and would put the lane dividing stripe right in the middle of their hood! You really had to time your pass. When they would drift back into their proper lane I would scoot by. But like I said, it was like "you aren't passing me bike rider!!" and they would immediately drift left as you started your pass. Total bullshit.
Ridden that route for dozens of years and I have never, ever seen anything as bad as Wednesday's ride. Everything else was great. Just that one 20 mile stretch of road. It made me do the 373 north loop to Saint Jo after lunch in Muenster just so I wouldn't have to ride 922 again on the way back.
Be safe out there. [thumbsup] [Dolph]
Bumpitty-bump ;D
One week to go and I'm hoping you guys can give us a head count. Sound off please if you know you're going to attend. We'll start serving dinner around 5 but feel free to come over anytime after 3:30.
We're having BBQ ribs, potato salad, cole slaw. We'll have a dessert (TBA) and drinks. No need to bring anything unless you really want to.
Still planning on a pre-BBQ Muenster Run. I'd like to leave from Grapevine Mills mall around 10 am. If you'd like to do this ride, please sound off ;D
And if you can do only one thing and not the other, no worries - should be a great weekend for just kicking around!
ill be there!
Awesome -- I still plan on attending the BBQ. [thumbsup]
I'm definitely coming.
I will be on the ride and Amy will join us for the BBQ.
Cheers
Andy
I'll be there for the bbq. [thumbsup]

I meant to say I'm coming to both, so please add me to the ride. [Dolph]
I'm going to attempt to make the ride/bbq if I can.
So we are new to this group, but my wife and I would like to meet the local members. We have to see what time the kids will get picked up but we would like to come and meet everyone.

Hope you can show. These are good people. Well, there is Dax to consider ;D
talked with my little brother (cory) and he may be here this weekend, and maybe mike. But they are riding with someone else, so maybe cory will ride his old bike again (BLQ). so we'll see as the week goes by, but maybe??

Excellent. I hope they can both make it [thumbsup]
Well that's a late start since Mrs. E must rest or I will pay for it so we will drop by to say hi and home we go by 5
Hi everybody--newer member here as well. I've been hoping to make the ride, but think my son may have a makeup football game on Sunday! Blast! hope springs eternal that I can meet up with some fellow Ducatisti! Have a great time-- I'll do the ride if able, but most likely catch the next one....

Our weekend plans have changed so we will make the BBQ!
We are also planing on the ride (unless I chicken out) [Dolph]
(Haven't ridden much in the last year, and after a couple short rides last weekend this is jumping in with both feet...)
This is shaping up to be an awesome day! Thanks for responding; it looks like we've got 8 folks for the ride and 16 peeps for the BBQ [clap]
If anyone needs directions to my house, please PM me. And I've added a map link on Reply #20 for the parking lot where we'll meet for the start of the ride on Sunday.
See y'all Sunday!
Keep an eye on the weather

Got everything worked out and the wife and I will be there around 5. Thanks for putting this together.
Be mindful of the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch on 1171 going west the the Boyd's house. This time of year it's packed and can cause traffic back ups. Lots of cops too. You folks have a good safe ride and enjoy the great BBQ. I assume the awesome bread pudding will be offered. [bow_down] [popcorn] [thumbsup] [laugh]
lisa tyler and I will be at your house at 10:15.

Pumpkin Patch is still packing 'em in but FM 1171 has been widened FINALLY to three lanes each way with a center median. Plus, they've got Flower Mound road widened to two lanes each way with a nice divided median so that will be our "backway" in and out of town that completely avoids 1171 at it's worst points. All of the road construction/aggravation in our area has finally paid off [clap]

Thanks Lisa & Alan for continuing the tradition. It was the same bbq four years ago that y'all welcomed me to the group and helped celebrate my birthday. RIP Charles.
