Question about the batttery of a new bike. I've noticed lately that if i let my bike sit for a few days(no starting or riding) and try and start it, it won't start. I plug the battery tender in and once charged, she starts right up. Is this normal for battery to go dead after just a few days? Should i just plug the battery tender in every day. Or does this sound like i have a problem? The bike is brand new...maybe 200 miles on it altogether.
couple of things
i have heard of people getting bad batteries. you can have that checked at the dealer
another is the parking light. i've left mine on before. it's when you turn the key one step past the lock. it's almost impossible to notice during the day when you do it.
whats the normal you should be able to leave the bike without starting and go back and start it...approx how many days, weeks, etc?
and i'll have to definately check that parking light thing...that could be the problem.
I've left mine for a month or more sometimes.
but I've drained the battery in just a day at work leaving the parking light on.
If your battery is good and there is no drain on the battery excluding the immobilizer, many weeks. Time varies with ambient conditions, but, unless you are leaving your parking light on you have a problem.
