Title: Ducati Monster model #s vs Engine size Post by: Jordan1234 on September 28, 2011, 03:41:27 PM Hello all -
I'm shopping for parts and I'm starting to go a bit crazy with trying to figure out whether parts will fit my motor. I have a 2002 M750 Dark. If I see an object that fits a "748" with no other description, does that apply to my bike? What about an object that fits a "749" with no other description? Did any other Ducati motorcycles use the same engine that my monster has? Thanks -Jordan Title: Re: Ducati Monster model #s vs Engine size Post by: stopintime on September 28, 2011, 03:43:46 PM 748 and 749 are SuperBikes, little brothers of 996 and 999.
Any specific parts you're looking for? Title: Re: Ducati Monster model #s vs Engine size Post by: Punx Clever on September 28, 2011, 03:45:43 PM a 748 is a ducati model. Not just engine size.
(http://www.diseno-art.com/images/Ducati-748-biposto.jpg) So is a 749 (http://www.superbikeitalia.com/images/40_323200780025pm.jpg) Both of which happen to be small displacement 4-valve engines. Which were never in a monster. EDIT: Beat me to it. I'm trying to track down a tool for holding the cam still while I pull off the nut. Doesnt look like motomfg makes one. |
