Title: Pulling a thread on the sweater - Chain rub, tank matting, and unknown plug
Post by: talljoker on September 28, 2011, 04:58:09 PM
I spent Friday night with my new girl going over things and cleaning her...anyways I found some interesting things that I don't know how I spotted during the sell...

Daliah - '02 - 750ie w/ 21K - all maintenance up to date -

First up when I was doing the emissions removal I found this...

I have the slightest clue but this is on the left hand side of the bike...super secret mod? I don't know

next is that I have a Termi exhaust and I was checking the chain and noticed this...not good...

not the most noticeable but yeah. This is a full system which means this is digging into the mid pipe...I think this will push me to get a high mount :(

I also took the tank off and I noticed that the matting fell apart in my hands. Do I need to get a new one or just live wihtout.

mebbe try the frozen water trick for the mid pipe?  it prob wont push the dent out that much, but it might help.

but yeah, gotta fix the origin of the prob too... have you checked your alignment?

you might want to trace the first wires. I think it may have been for the kickstand switch.

your chain alignment may be off, or your headers need to be shifted.
alignment is easy to check. the headers, just loosen everything up and see if you can shift things side way.

I'm going to check that kick stand bypass....I think that might be it now thinking of it.

as for the alignment I will put it on the stands and check it. I will look at the tutorials to see the procedure.

Thanks.
