Protect your brain and run for your life. This is one race where your legs giving out are the least of your problems. Run For Your Lives is a first-of-its-kind event, one part 5K, one part obstacle course, one part escaping the clutches of zombies â€" and all parts awesome.
Runners will navigate a series of 12 obstacles throughout a 5K course in an attempt to reach the finish line â€" all while avoiding zombies. At the end of this adventure race, you get to celebrate survival (or zombie transformation) with live entertainment and music, local celebrities, vendors, food, and of course, beer!
someone should start a moto version!
Could I run it with my chainsaw!? That looks hokey but fun!
Damn, it says no weapons!
I'm so glad you posted this. I am so down for it. Looks fun as hell.
I am currently signed up for the 3pm wave....am looking forward to it...
Just clicked on this and guess what I am watching on the dish ....................Dawn of the Dead !!!!
does it get any better ?
Looks like great training !
Neato. [thumbsup]
Too bad none of the locales are near me.
(Also too bad I'm an out-of-shape fatass.)
Looks like it's time to put on the ultimate zombie t-shirt!! [thumbsup] It kicks butt and no zombie would ever mess with me while wearing it. ;D Thanks again ML/Kevin for the gift of life vs zombies t-shirt last year!! [laugh] It has served me well and what is left of my brains is still intact! [bow_down] [popcorn] [beer] ;)
No weapons?! :'(
[bacon]
In a similar vein (as in bloody veins/gore [laugh]) I saw that the season premiere for Walking Dead is Sunday October 16! [thumbsup] I'll be wearing the t-shirt and fondling my shotgun in anticipation! [popcorn]
That's awesome... I may have to do the one in Indy in June.

OH WELL....where do I start....it was a royal clustermake the beast with two backs...the organization that did the event was ill prepared for what happened...the minor list of grievances is as follows
1) the parking situation sucked! It was a field that became a mudbog that tried to swallow more than a few cars....when this started becoming a major obstacle in of itself, it made traffic flow a serious problem....and there were no tow trucks or other assistance vehicles on hand to help...
2) traffic flow, as there was only 1 lot and only 1 way in and therefore, 1 way out....when people started staying and hanging out to drink cheap beer and listen to bands, the parking flow outward practically stopped and the inbound people sat and waited trying to get in and get to the event....we sat in the car for 2.5 hours trying to drive the 1.5 miles to get into the lot and finally pulled over and parked on the shoulder of the road just around the corner from the lot and walked.
3) The buses to take you from the parking lot to the event grounds were overcrowded and not cycling with any kind of frequency...and this was a problem going both ways....as people decided it was a 2 hour wait at the event to catch the bus back to the lot, they would then in turn decide to stay and drink more cheap beer.
4) they got greedy in the final week before the event and decided to change the last heat from 4pm to 6pm and tried to book more people in....350 per heat wave times a new heat leaving every 20 minutes...do the math at $65 a person...and then sell spectating spots as well at half the runner price for to have people there to hang out and drink beer and listen to bands
5) the event grounds were looking like a post apocolyptic refugee camp reminiscent of Woodstock...it kind of added to the ambiance of things, but it made for a severe lack of ways or places to change into a clean set of clothes...
6) the cheap beer was pretty damned expensive....$5 for a Natty Boh ( National Bohemian for those that don't know) or a PBR....oh, and I think they had Bud Lite too...and there was a line 4 times longer than the beer line for to get carded for to be able to get beer, which was moving slower than a Post Office line at Christmas....
7) the event shirt was the worst event shirt I have ever gotten at any run and had nothing on it....to top it off, it was so much of a knock-off of Under Armour that the materials it was made of was 95% "SPUNDEX"...
8) the "Zombies" on the course(most of them anyway), by the time I got to run it were tired and rather unmotivated to do their jobs...apparently they were left out to chase for longer shifts than origionally planned and with little to no relief in terms of hydration or breaks...when they chased, it was fun, but they weren't quite as brainthirsty as you would have hoped...
9) the obstacles...well..1 of them was closed ( thankfully ) as it was a 4 foot deep pond that was cold and apparently someone swan dove into it and broke their collarbone on a root in it which forced them to close that obstacle....1 obstacle which was for you to wade through a pool of fake blood and guts was a dirty water bath resembling nothing else by the time we got to it...the course in general was just so run over and slippery and mud laden that you were going to be a mess no matter what....
as my 1st ever obstacle run, I did it in under an hour, and though there was too much stop and go everywhere for my own liking, it was an experience I am glad I did for to at least say that I did it, but I severely question as to whether or not I would do it again....
was anyone there in a Wonder Woman outfit?

hahahahaahahaa...if they were....they were covered in mud and looking for the nacho line I bet!
Where did that Wonder Woman question come from? [laugh]
You would have had a better time if you had worn my offical Monsterlover zombie t-shirt. [thumbsup] It has served me well. I have lost very little brains every time I have worn it. At least that's what I remember. Things still get foggy t-shirt or not. [beer] [drink] [bacon]
Those are pretty good shirts aren't they?

Lol, yeah we're square.
It took a while but then this box shows up from someone I don't know.
It took me a minute to figure things out.
He sent me a neat aluminum cube for making drinks. Each side has a pyramid shaped depression of varying depths.
Deeper = more ounces, and each side is marked with the measure.
Its bad ass.
