Title: Powder coating the top triple only? Post by: The ModFather on October 01, 2011, 07:03:01 PM I'm taking off the top triple on my 620 Dark to put some on some cycle-cat clip-ons. I'm thinking while I got it off I might as well get it powder coated black. I've seen lots of discussions on this but havent see any decent pics of an OEM top triple powder coated black. More importantly how's it going to look if I only do the top triple and not the bottom? Anyone have any pics of only the top done? Think its a bad idea? I read taking off the bottom is a much bigger hassle so I'm kinda shying away from it. Dont want to get in over my head this winter. If I could find a cheap used OEM top triple that would be great too cause I'd like to grind down the clamps but would like to keep'em on this set in case I dont like the clip-ons and want to go back to my Rizoma handle bars.

Grinding down the casting ribs make a big difference cosmetically. Mine done in orange (http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff27/charlieff/photo-13.jpg) (http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff27/charlieff/photo-26.jpg) Do not pc any tolerance sensitive areas! Like the inner portion of trips( where the fork slides through) Title: Re: Powder coating the top triple only?
