Title: Hand guards for the 696 aka winter mods.
Post by: ChrisH on October 02, 2011, 07:18:02 PM
I'm trying to prepare for the upcoming winter. Last winter I rode through all the cold we got, even riding when it was 17* out. I froze. I'd like to prepare better this year. I bought some acerbis hand guards, but they won't fit with my coffin's so I need something different. To complicate it I have bar end mirrors. I'd really love to get the guard/mirror setup from a hyper motard, but I am having a hard time spending that much loot.

Anyone have any suggestions that won't break the bank?

since you have bar end mirrors, it is a crap shoot as to what can work, because it seems you are going to have to sacrifice something....you can try adapting some deflectors from a  Suzuki V-Strom, perhaps try a set of Hippo Hands....or go to a dirtbike shop and look at some of the various hand guard kits which some have various ergonomic drops from brands like Acerbis, Moose, Cycra, etc....

if you were willing to put stock mirros back on or something of that style, you could always go to a hanguard set-up like these..
