Title: WOORRIED ABOUT CHANGING OIL PRESSURE WITH NEW LINES I AM INSTALLING
Post by: SwampMonster on October 04, 2011, 06:46:42 PM
I have a 1995 M900 I am rebuilding. One of the things I have intentions of changing are the two oil lines that run from the left case up to the cylinders. I had a very good local shop build these lines for me and bought the banjo bolts through Speigler.

Now my concern is that upon compairing the stock lines/banjo bolts the hole in the aftermarket fitting/bolt is about half the size of the originals. Just wondering if anyone has incite into if this is even something to be worried about, or will this not effect the oil pressure enough to worry about.

The smaller hole will increase the pressure but decrease the volume of oil.

It might not matter...but...

I'd get bolts with the right size holes.

I was thinking about trying to drill out the bolts, but that doesn't really help with the banjo fitting hole size or will it help?

If the thread size is correct don't worry about the banjo size.

The early monsters had larger holes to fill the oil jackets in the cylinders.

You have an early bike.
