My XBox Live Account was stolen from me and migrated to a Russian account. I got control back but after a month of investigations I was told by Microsoft yesterday that there is no way for them to make it a US account again. Therefore I can never buy an DLC, videos, watch netflix, or even renew the account when it expires since everything is in Russian and my credit card needs to be a Russian card. I have been a subscriber for 8 years now to Live and the only way to get full functionality is to lose those 8 years of gaming and start from scratch. Ridiculous? I think so..........they kept telling me it was some law holding them back to migrate the account to a United States account again.......but if it was illegally taken shouldn't it be able to be legally reverted back to it's original state? How often do you go back to older games? I would be a bit pissed if I lost track of all my CoD stuff, like my gold guns on CoD4, but f they could give me the Microsoft points for all the games I've bought with the account, then I would get over it relatively quick.
I don't go back too often but I have been playing Halo Reach for the past year and my friends still play MW2. It would suck to have to go through all those ranks again. Not to mention all the arcade games I play when it is a slow release season. A refund for all of my MS points ever and my 8 years of subscription would almost make me content.........but I would rather have the account.

It sucks big time they called me yesterday and basically said there is nothing that can be done. They are "working on it" without any sort of time frame for a fix. If you have a credit card on your xbox account I suggest removing it in order to prevent a chance of fraud. There has been numerous cases with accounts being compromised in the past couple of months.
At this point i'm going back to PC gaming only.
I just buy 4000 point cards and 13 month Gold cards from BJ's.
No CC info in my account, and you get plenty of warnings when you're under 2 months left on Gold.

Yeah I should have done that but I wasn't thinking. I mean I can live with points being bought it's easy to dispute charges. But I had no idea that migration option was there I wish I could have had the option to turn that off.
