Title: Shift Pedal Sticking
Post by: kck620 on October 10, 2011, 08:06:47 PM
I have a '04 620 and whenever i downshift the shift pedal gets stuck all the way down. I have to put my foot under it and lift it back up to be able downshift again. Is this a serious problem? What should i (can i) do to fix it?

Sounds like the lever might be bent and is catching on the side stand.

The rod that is connected to the shifter pedal is bent some. Could this be the reason that when i down shift the pedal doesnt spring back to position? If so can i just order that part and put it on myself?

I don't think so...unless it's rubbing on something.

If the pedal returns normally after an upshift the internal spring is probably OK.

I've bent the lever before and had it stick.

Maybe bent enough that the heim(?) joints are binding.. sounds possibly
