Title: Stand suggestion!!?
Post by: Spck31 on October 14, 2011, 08:39:12 AM
Hi,
I'm looking to buy a stand kit, rear & front for winter storage and during the  season performing basic maintenance. Monster 620 2k6 meaning standard rear stand. Some of you should have suggestions? I did research on DMF but no post on bike stand best pick...
Thanks to all

Pit Bull is great.  You can also find perfectly usable stands for half the money.

You're right! Ebay, Craig's list and Kijiji would certainly have some of those model... Pit bull seem to be a good one.

Thank you all for the help!

I recently purchased the pitbull ss with the reversable bracket. It either lifts the rear from spools or the swingarm. I'm very pleased ad the bike is super stable on the stand. It set me back 140 but it's not something I wanted to cheap out on. My bikes worth the extra investment.

Talking about stands..... What keeps the triple tree stands upright?

On T-Rex's combined fork/triple I see a rotating joint halfway up and a pin going into the steering head tube.

How does it not just collapse  ???

The pin in the tube keeps it from folding

I have a set of pitbulls and they are ultra-sturdy and well built.  Can't comment on the others.

I've been using Lockart-Phillips stands, front and rear(DSS) for a while and they work pretty well. [thumbsup]

The Pit bull's are great. I had one for my old CB-1.  However, for the money, I'm very happy with the Black Widdow stands I got for my Duc.  I bought the F/R stands at discountramps.com for under $90 with free shipping at the time.  For the quality and price of these stands, I wouldn't hesitate getting them again.

Pitbull stands are the best that I have used.  I have the SS rear and the front stand for my Monster.
I have been happy with everything I have purchased from T-Rex, but have no experience with their stands.
Good luck with the hunt.
