Title: Oil cooler Fitment - newer to '00 bike
Post by: Slide Panda on June 20, 2008, 08:01:49 AM
I'm looking into replacing my box on my 900 with one of the newer oil coolers.  Anyone know if they changed any of the fitting sizes from '00 to anything newer?

The fitting sizes are the same but the fittings are different as ducati has switched to a double o-ring o-line. just swap out your old fittings for the new ones and you should be all set.

Somehow that just confused the hell out of me.  So would I need newer lines as well to keep with the double o-rings?  Our should the nipple fittings I have jst thread into the new cooler, assuming it's fittings have been removed.  Looking at the parts diagrams, it looks as if I should just be able to connect my stock lines right to the new cooler - as long as I keep my fittings in tack.

I want to say that if you re-use your lines and fittings from your old cooler it will work, I could be wrong though [drink]

Hi Guys,

Sorry for reviving such an old thread, but I have a question similar to Yuu's. I found this oil cooler on eBay, but have no idea what bike/year it's from. Will it fit my bike ('94 M900)?

Oh, and what do you think about the damage to the fins, too much?

Thanks for your help!

Skip that cooler man.  It's off a Multistrada and the lines fit differently as well as the mounting brackets fitting differently.

Look for one from a SS or Monster

Ok, that's usefull info, thanks! Like Yuu, I'm looking for the newer type of cooler. I've been searching the net for some images (I think a have a general idea what they should look like now :)). The Hyper's cooler seems to be mounted in a similar way. Would this also be a direct swap?

The Hyper cooler would work, but you would have to plug the M10x1.0 oil temp sensor hole on the top of the cooler for it to work.
