He is the problem.. when i turn the key on gauges doe sa sweep and all the dummy lights comes on.. then off..I do not hear the fuel pump priming at all.. I press the start button and keeps cranking and cranking with no start till i shut it off..I like to know how to diagnnose this problem or have an idea of how much will it cost me to fix it before i purchase the bike?

Verify the year/displacement, first. I'm likely wrong, but AFAIK, 695 was the only displacement for the regular (non S*) '07 Monster.

The '07 had a major service interval at 7,500 miles = mostly oil/filter change, probably new belts if they haven't been changed, and valve check/adjust plus other checks you can do yourself.  Cost for that seems to run between $300 - $400.  Tires, if original may be nearing replacement time, too.   Just a few additional things to consider.

I'm sure someone with more mechanical skills than me will provide a much more useful response, but I say, if you have the tools, time, space, knowledge and patience to work on it, I'd say go for it.

Before you do anything else, check the fuses.

695s are great bikes.

Hi,
first thank you for your all responses. I am planing to pick up the bike tomorrow. I will take some pictures and post them. I can nor verify the service history so I assume nothing is done.. What needs to Done be around 7k. There is only one key to the bike. How hard is it to get a spare key and the red key for the immobilizer?
Thank you.

Since you don't know the service history, everything you would do on a 15K service including belts and brake/clutch fluid.  As you said, tires if they are original.

Your black key can be cloned, you are screwed on the red key and code card.  No biggie though.  The computer can be flashed to eliminate the immobilizer.  It can be flashed as DP computer at the same time.  This will add power, smoothness and the bike will run cooler.  Search this board for more info.

If all the fuses check out good (test with a meter, don't just look) post back and we will get you through some trouble shooting.

Funny how things change:

No idea if this is legitimate.  I would still go with the flash.

Hi guys,
thank you for all your replies... I got the bike yesterday and it is sitting on my driveyway. I have contacted the previous owner and the shop who had the bike. Good news is I got the red key and 2 uncut spare black keys with service records and owners manual from the previous owner. Shop who had it was doing a service on it .. Injector flow check clean, new battery ect. Bike quit on them on the test ride and they told me they diagnoised it as fuel pump. I will check the fuses and relay and the connectors before ordering a pump. I will try to post pictures of it soon..
Again thank you for your advices and help.

Hi everybody,
Today i had some time to look into fuel pump on the bike. I took it out and take the fuel pump out. I apply power to the fuel pump and it worked. So I decided to chack the wiring at the fuel pump assembly. First time i checked the wires everything checked out fine so i decided to apply power tot he pump assmebbly from the connector. Nothing happened.. I rechecked the wiring again and i found the red power wire from the connector to the pump itself has a short . when you wiggle it it conducts. problem is it is right where the 4 wires are going into the fuel pump assembly. i am attached a pictures and video clips of the problem.
i am open to any ideas how to come up with a solution to this problem.

hi everybody,
I ended up replacing the red wire (power). I took the old one out by drilling and push the new wire through the hole. I used plastic epoxy to seal the new wire and hole and hopefully it will hold up to fuel. I just finished doing the inside side and will be applying plastic epoxy ot the outside of it.. I will le teverybody know how it will hold up.
