Hi folks,
I just reinstalled my stock exhaust and used some high temp silicone on the pipe joints. I let the bike run for about 30 seconds about 20 or so minutes after installation to check that it's working ok. However, the silicone's directions states curing time is 24 hours. Did I mess it up by letting the bike run for that 30 seconds? Thanks.
20 seconds I'm sure won't affect the silicone but I'm pretty sure high temp silicone would burn on an exhaust. What's the temp rating on the tube?

I believe 600 degrees Fahrenheit maximum. Do you recommend some other sealant to use that would not degrade? Thanks.
Copper RTV is the only thing that comes close, but that probably isn't enough. Those pipes can get really hot in some locations.. the pipes on my 900SS glow if I sit in traffic too long.
