Title: is it possible to repair a plastic tank? Post by: 77south on November 04, 2011, 12:46:06 PM my 2006 M620D has a crack in it right next to the latch by the ignition switch. I took it to a motorcycle shop to get the battery replaced and it cracked as they were moving the latch. I am 85% certain these guys wouldn't jerk me around and try to blame their mistake on me. So it was probably already damaged, and moving the latch cracked it wide open. I searched this thread, but could not find any information on the repair of a plastic tank. Is it possible to epoxy the crack shut? Or am I on the hook for a replacement tank?

but they aren't 4 gallons... are made of a different plastic most likely... and they weren't between my legs. You could try. I might do the same. Keep in mind the Ducati plastic tanks have been problematic. You might check with a dealer to see if you're eligible for a free replacement. http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=25074.0 (http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=25074.0) http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=43639.0 (http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=43639.0) Title: Re: is it possible to repair a plastic tank? Post by: xsephirot on November 05, 2011, 01:47:46 PM Take it to a Ducati dealership for a FREE warranty replacement. Ducati just recently settled back near the end of September with the class action lawsuit. It is 5 years from the year of the motorcycle or 18 months from the end of the settlement whichever is longer.
