Title: Wheels
Post by: no c on November 05, 2011, 08:02:15 AM
I'm looking to make a few upgrades to my '08 sport classic. Exhaust and wheels.

I was told that 999 rims would fit. I've been checking eBay. Any other places I should be looking?
These seemed like a decent deal.

I was also told they don't make termi's for my bike any more.  AMS said they've got a guy that can make custom pipes which sounds better to me anyhow. I've seen some pretty cool  looking custom exhausts that sit under the back wheel and engine down low. AMS also said they're developing their own ecu and I should probably just wait on that.

Just looking for any additional information and ideas to consider. thanks!

You might need spacers for the front wheel.  If I'm not mistaken the Sport Classic has a different number of bolts and the brakes are similar to the S2R 800/1000.  Go count them and then look at the online auction again.  This happened to me when I bought the 10 spoke forged wheels from an 848 and in the end was going to be twice the cost so I sold them.  Those wheels will look awesome on your bike BTW.  As for exhaust, I'm sure someone has something laying around.  You can also check with Monsterparts.com, ask for Jeff.  Motowheels, California Cycleworks, Bellisimoto, Desmoworld and Pro-Italia.  Sometimes they have stuff still laying around and are big online retailers.
Post pictures when you're done and good luck
