Keeping crothety bottled up inside will kill you.
Sad. Didn't he just retire a month ago?

The older I got, the more I liked him and his style.

A good life indeed. [thumbsup]
RIP...
He lives(d) a few blocks from my parents in Connecticut.
He bought Girl Scout cookies from my sister.

RIP.
He was my dad's favorite commentator. We used to watch him every Sunday night when I was growing up.
Never afraid to speak his mind. My kind of man.

I also have fond memories of watching him with my dad every Sunday night.
:(
The older I got, the more I liked Mr. Rooney. I think I have oldtimers disease.
I'll add that when he worked for Stars and Stripes during WW2 he he was one of only six correspondents who flew on the second American bombing raid over Germany. Not just crotchety, but he had brass balls volunteer to do that.
