I wear my sunglasses at night.
That makes me pretty cool. ;D
Mine went out in Phoenix last Labor day weekend. It was close to 100 in the house. Needless to say, we went somewhere else for the day...
$95 just to come out and look at it... :-\
I am scared what this is going to cost to repair.

When you unerstand hte basic principals of how an AC works, you can pretty much do the work yourself. Is this one of those window units (i would just trash it and buy another one) or is it one of those central ac units that are on your roof/backyard?
Basically an AC goes dead for these reasons, drop in pressure of HFC22, leaking HFC22 (which causes the drop) dead compressor. faulty pressure sensor. If its just weak, it may have just leaked out the refrigerant and needs a recharge, which you can do your self with a homedepot kit. Goodluck, i personally just hit the gym, if your going to be sweaty and muggy, you might as well do something that gets you sweaty and muggy.

WRONG there are more ways to stop your air cond working probley the #1 way is a dirty filter if you really knew how a refrigerant cycle works you would know that a dirty filter would cause a drop in press across the evap coil causing low press and freeze up the coil which the ice makes the coil freeze more YES LOW freon WILL ALSO CAUSE A LP/FREEZE. also a dirty cond coil will cause high press in the freon circuit and trip the hi press switch these are just the basic thing there are many more things that are easy to see and fix but will kill your ac unit
also freon 22 is a hcfc [thumbsup] 134 is a hfc if any body needs help with air/heat/controls for hvacr I would be glad to help [thumbsup]

[laugh] what if their AC filters are clogged? POOL TIME!!!!!!
Just spent $5500 for a new a/c & gas forced air heating system replacement this year.
I feel your pain!
I spent about the same last year...
Nakid ...this is sort of a thred jack but I had a friend who was an assistant Golf Pro at Scottsdale Country Club and he told me he played golf one aftrnoon when it was 117 degrees. He said there weren't many people on the course but it didn't really seem that hot to him.
What is the hottest air temperature you have gone riding. Here in Ohio the Humidity sometimes gets as low as the mid 30s with the temps. in the mid 90s . I used to play alot of golf and I played when it was that hot and it didn't deter me. Now it would literally kiil me in minutes.
If my A/C broke I'd have to have a fan on full blast on me and the A/C better get fixed in the same day or I'm heading for a motel.
I've been riding in full gear at 118 or 119. It was DAMN HOT! At that temp, moving wasn't much better than being stopped. I wore ICON Pursuit perf'd gloves and I swear the holes felt like little blow torches.
At the time, I was wearing an ICON Superduty Jacket and pants, A matte black ZR-1 Strike helmet...

Please tell me you did not enjoy that ride and you were soaked to the bone w/ sweat when you were done.
hey nakid how are those icon pursuit gloves in the protection department? i really dig them and want a pair, but it looks like it wouldnt survive well in a spill. I would just dunk my head in a bucket of ice all day at 120. I would be able to go thoruhg atleast 3-4 gallons of water if i even thought about riding in that kinda temp.
I think the hottest ive been riding in, is probably 100 degrees outside, but theres always the raidiating heat from the asphalt after the suns been on it all day. And then theres 95 degrees + being in traffic, which is almost as bad, but atleast you could just pull over and grab a drink without looking for a stoping point.
I did not enjoy it. But at the time, my wife had been in an accident and her car was being worked on. So, she had the truck at home in case the baby needed to go to the doctor. I was on the bike every day until my accident Aug 11th 06.
The gloves held up fine. After the accident, there was 1 or 2 stitches broken but that was it. I then used the gloves for the months I was in the wheel chair.
I started using them again in 07 when I got the new bike until a couple months ago when they wore through (mainly on the finger tips) from use in the wheel chair...
you can always call these guys

You can take cold COLD showers throughout the day to try to lower your core temp. A busted ac is not as bad as having the copper stolen out of all 4 of you commercial units. That my friend is a BIG hit to the wallet.

rrrawr dirka
that happened to me once in college
i went to one of the big box stores and bought an air conditioner.
when the landlord fixed the air 10 days later, i put it all neatly back into the box and taped it up and returned it. it was indistinguishable from new.
i told them i didn't need it as the landlord fixed the air conditioning. i didn't lie.
man I'm new to computers I can hardly work this thing. I have to hunt and peck everything. I don't know what any of these code acronyms mean so ha ha on me what ever [roll]

LOL, man that sucks. Whats the cost of copper now? im sure its almost $2.00 aint it? 3 years ago, i sold some for 1.30 a pound. I did a scrap metal run for .13 cents a pound. majority of it was scrap iron. I wonder how much those junk yard guys get for it.

I suppose that meth thing is in Ohio, but staying in the country and riding now, hopefully I won't run into any of those crazy people. I've got a 12 gauge pump , a 357 Magnum , and a 7.62x39 waiting for anyone who wants to show up here and cause trouble and always carry my Walther PPk/s as well.
