Title: Fork Pinging Noise on Return Stroke
Post by: csorin on November 09, 2011, 07:30:29 PM
Hey guys,

I'm getting a pinging noise emanating from the bottom of the right fork on the return stroke.  To explain, I can compress the forks, and when I release the pressure to allow them to return to the rest position, it sounds like the spring is pinging off something inside the bottom.  Any thoughts?

i had the exact same thing happen to my fork. i took it apart and cleaned it and noise went away. no signs of debris in fork oil.

Could very well be the spring.   With winter coming, you could plan to take them apart and see if they have any polished sides where they are rubbing.

I'll take a look at it on a snow day.  Currently, it's only annoying.  Shit, between the SBK front end, going back to stock, and now this, I'll be a pro at reassembly.
