Title: 600 Monster that has been covered in battery acid
Post by: Nick Peace on November 11, 2011, 01:53:37 PM
Hello, I hope someone can help. I have a 1998 600 Monster that has had a battery explosion. On putting it on the side stand it has covered the LHS case. I think my best bet is to take the engine out, rub it down and spray with black engine/heat paint. I'd love to keep the metal, and restore the the same as the RHS. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the quick reply!!!
No . This happened a while ago. I repainted the frame which got splattered (with engine still in), as it stared to rust, The engine looks awful but hasn't rusted up just taken off the shine.

I Half way through stripping it down to do a proper job on the frame and swing arm + a few extra bits. I just do not know how to go about doing the engine, without painting it with engine paint and buying some cam covers etc. so it ain't all black?

like zooom said - you should still flush all areas with water with baking soda in it first
