Hey all,
I'm slowly working through the 20,000km service on my 06 M620ie. One part recommended in the schedule is "general lubrication and greasing". I'm trying to figure out what this entails? Lubrication of cables/chain etc I do frequently anyway, but does this refer to repacking swingarm bearings, steering head bearings and the like? Greasing threads? Just trying to get an idea how far into it I should be going. If I don't need to disassemble the swingarm assembly, take off the rear shock and everything else that would be preferable Really appreciate any advice!
Cheers,
Tk
If you figure it out let us know :-\
Anyway, my opinion:
If the head bearings and swing arm arm have never been greased, it is a good idea.
Change fork oil.
Change all fluids
Keep adding and subtracting folks. Maybe this can develop into the "DMF official general lubrication and greasing thread"
You mean I was supposed to lube and grease stuff 11k ago? :o Are we talking miles or kms? I'm talking miles, but I did change the shock. And the fork oil... and the steering still works, and the swingarm goes up and down.
my bike got a full lube job at 17k miles. I got it for free too.
it was Grease type C P and B (ill leave you guys to decipher what each one means).

Cannibal Plecostomus and Bile...
The 2000 Monster Owner's Manual has a comprehensive list of what gets serviced when.
I downloaded a pdf of it quite a while ago...not sure if it's still widely available.
Hmmm, I suppose I'll play it safe and grease the swingarm/linkage - be nice to know it's been done. Can't be too difficult??...
