Despite a tight cable, it's quite sloppy - feels like the tube is too large for the bar.

Maybe it's just old, maybe it needs grease, I don't know.

It would be perfect with a quality piece like Kyle Racing, but AFAIK they don't make a single cable tube :(

Anything else out there?

I'm sure they are nice, but I'm searching for throttle tubes, or controls if you like  [thumbsup]

is there a reason we cant just trim one cable off the sbk twin setup? id like to find an alternative to my std monster setup as its ugly coming over the top, due to radial masters...

has anyone tried one of the cruiser/harley aftermarket items that run an in bar cable? only issue i can see is that you wont be able to run bar end mirrors with hidden throttle cable.

a little searching shows the propper name for which is an internal throttle.

Perhaps there's some nice dirt-bike throttle assemblies out there.

Domino Racing has one that looks exactly like OEM.

I emailed them asking if they are the same or if there are added features.

the domino i saw on the pierobon was dual cable

I have a G2 Throttle Tube with the same profile as the stock tube and I am happy.  It could be just a tad tighter but the Delrin is very smooth.

my issue is finding a grip that covers the stock plastic piece near the throttle housing like the stock does.

Didn't know they made stock size and profile cams.

Function or form reason for that?

both IMO. my grip tends to shift (I don't want to glue it) but the stock has a lip over the plastic ring to hold it in place and it looks better.

Raux, that housing is probably a dual cable type.

Domino also makes single cable housings looking exactly like OEM - maybe they are....

G2 Ergonomics have a stock size and profile cam which fits on the tube otherwise used in their quick/fast assembly.

Note: I didn't know they also offer a Monster compatible larger housing that will have room for an oversized quick/fast cam. It's a modified two stroke MX housing from Domino.

I'm going to check out a new stock throttle to see if it will be tight enough - they're about the same price as the G2 alternative.

Well, I found out two things today....

The Domino is the same as stock - they are an OEM.

Checked five stock throttles at a dealer - they were all at least as loose as mine  [roll]
I'll tighten my cable, which has worked well before and I'll lubricate/grease my tube.
Or I get the G2 tube and see how that works...

The G2 tube is really nice.  On my M695 I use one in combo with an electraeon cam at the throttlebody.

The G2 tube still has the usual clearance between the tube and the bar.  It turns super smooth, but you feel the slop a bit more because the tube is (hard) aluminum as opposed to the (soft) plastic of the OE tube.  After my first ride I asked G2 if they made a tube and/or derlin inserts with tighter clearance, and they said no it's a safety issue and their origins are dirtbikes where it's especially important to have enough play.  Still, I would not go back to the plastic OE tube.

Before I got the G2 tube I removed the plastic tube, cleaned things up underneath and lubed with some of the Teflon spray I use on the chain.  Didn't like the idea of sticky grease in there.  Worked well to reduce friction.

The tube will rotate freely even if it was made tighter, don't you think....

Worst slop contributor is sideways - the tube ridge has a lot of extra space where it's locked in the housing.
Again, I can't see a reason for that much space.

BK: you're probably right about the grease, I'll use oil after cleaning the whole thing.

it's not as much extra as it feels like.its better to have too much than to have it bind up
