Updated and upgraded... [Dolph]

After the tail chop I did some shopping and came home with some nice indicators (December) and new mirrors (last week). After having everything properly installed I am now waiting for the temperatures to rise, a long tour is waiting. Till then I keep myself happy with short rides through and round the city... Anyway, below some pictures of the upgrades.

Let me know what you think. Next update has most likely to do with upgrading the brakes.

Yesterday I decided to chop of the tail of my Monster. Easy job with a minimum on $$$. Welded a homemade bracket together and looking at the results I am fairly pleased. Next week some Rizoma blinkers will be installed to get rid of the Ducati potatoes which they call to be blinkers. I am also looking to replace the stock mirrors for nice Rizoma`s circuit 743, anyone has these already? Next project is to replace the Brake and clutch Masters for some Brembo stuff. Any recommendations?? I was thinking of the 19" radial but I am not sure which goes best with the stock callipers. I will keep you posted of the updates.

If you want better brakes, the usual route to take is larger rotors and better calipers.

320mm rotors, (so called) 10mm offset.
Four piston, two pads calipers (so called 996 calipers) found on many other Ducatis.
New lines as well, custom just over $ 100.
You can use your stock master cylinder or get any kind of upgrade - 16mm coffin/stock style for $ 100 or radial if you wish.

S2R 800 screams for better brakes - you won't be disappointed.

Looks good , Have you thought of coring / chopping the cans . If you can tail chop you can do this .

also look at 3rd eye bar end mirrors  just amazing for the price  ( they will not fold at any speed )

Ok, asking for your advices, (thx stopintime),what do you recommand. 320 rotors,which kind. Saw some chinese brand passing by on this forum. I am looking for brembo callipers, new, what kind has you best experiences. On the bars I will install the latest brembo 18/20 radial anyway, with some rizoma or ccc fluid holders.
Better spend some time upgrading during the cold times than sitting home.. ;D

FTW - Brembo goldline rotors and calipers.  Loved the 2 pads setup with the rotors I had on my S2R (the ones in the pics I sent you).  If I couldn't get those, I'd get either galfer rotors if you have the $$$.  I didn't go the chinese route when my bike got wrecked and got EBCs and I liked them a lot.  If you're looking for some good solid rotors, those EBCs I mentioned are just chillin looking to be used  [thumbsup]

Cake has some sick brake tech rotors which look incredible and I bet they stop on a dime. 

I bought my brake parts from YoYoDyne and I'm happy with their service and knowledge.

if your gonna replace calipers i would go the sbk 4 pads. second hand in good condition is not much more than the regular monster 2 pad ones.

as for rotors i use galfer and they are great at speed, but annoying at carpark speed where they can be touchy and lack feel. also if hard braking at low speed they sometimes feel a little jerky. i think this may be typical with many wave style rotors..
