Title: Rizoma turn signals
Post by: jun.seba on November 30, 2011, 01:53:05 PM
Does anyone that has Rizoma turn signals find that they're too small to be noticeable? I hear that they're very bright, which will work fine at night, but they're all very small. I was wondering if anyone finds they're too small to be seen during the day, when the brightness isn't as effective.

Trust me they will be seen day or night.

I've been very happy with them (especially brightness).

I installed the Rizoma Graffions this week. Very bright, in day and night. Besides this, all Rizoma turnsignals are EU approved, so the luminiscence is according to European regulations. (see the (e) sign stamped in the cover) so no problems with the local  [leo]. Think this is also good enough for the US.

That would be incorrect.  They'd be marked DOT if they met US specifications.

Would that mean that Rizoma stuff (blinkers) officially cannot be used in the States? On the Rizoma website they don't say anything about DOT approval. That would be a pity. Not it will keep you of using them anyway I suppose ;D

You can use them all day long.  They just don't meet US DOT spec.

Are you saying that the US DOT standard for turnsignal is stricker than Euro?  Or the Rizoma singals just weren't inspected by US DOT (ie. Rizoma the company isn't doing business in the US and the parts are brought over by individual importers).  There is a big difference between not DOT approved and not having US DOT approval.

This.  But the ultimate end is the same, they are not certified or legal for use on road going vehicles in the US.  They are generally an automatic failure if you happen to live in a state that performs safety inspections on motos.  The one thing is that most inspectors rarely go and look at the signals if they stick out far enough.
