Our faithful vinyl wrapper has been mighty quiet as of late. Anyone know how he's doing?
he's had his plate full...trust in that much...he will once again rise from the ashes like a Phoenix, but needs some time offline...
Just making sure he's still out there. Never hurts to ask after folk :)
Been having fun with his Vdub, pics here in our own work safe pron thread: http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=42218.msg992543#msg992543 (http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=42218.msg992543#msg992543)
See, that's what I get for not checking up on that thread so often. i was thinking he'd gone all silent. But no, he's just slumming it.

See - it's these damn cars messing things up again! What with their heated seats and "rain protection"!

some might think it is a necessary weaval.....
But is it the lesser of two weevils?
I'm still around, dealing with some Very Bad Thingsâ,,¢ that have my time pretty tied up. Getting some work done on the Golf when time allows but I've been pretty exhausted as of late. Hopefully things will work themselves out in the next few months and I can find more time to screw around on here and in general.

It's a 21 year old VW, the seats only get hot when I rip one and just because it has a roof doesn't mean it offers "rain protection".

Damn! I just realized mine is now 17 years old and probably due for new belts and head gaskets and Lord (or maybe Zooom) only knows what else! [laugh]

after 140000 miles? pretty much the everything! [laugh]
I've replaced bearings, rotors, axles and joints, engine mounts, sensors here and there, fuel filter, 2 exhausts (damn salt), rubber and plastic parts, distributer caps and a whole distributer too, spark plugs, sun roof mechanism (which the Haynes manual recommends be left to an official VW dealer -- BUNCH OF FAIRIES!), clutch plate, control arm bushings, damn plastic dipstick funnels (broken by the f**kwits at Jiffy Lube, who also put the last nail in the coffin of my) intake tube (between the air filter and the throttle), and a damn alternator power cable.
Aside from the belts and gaskets, I know it could use new shocks and maybe an engine rebuild... :-\
